管院國際學程日前在陳媛玲老師的研究方法課程中，特別邀請到奧地利維也納經濟大學（Vienna University of Economics & Business, 簡稱WU）人力資源管理學系的Konstantin Weicht助理教授演講，Weicht教授目前是東華大學的訪問學者，他除了德語和英語，對國語也是有兩把刷子！
本次演講題目「Qualitative Research Methods: Advanced Research Methods.」Weicht教授試著用深入淺出的方式，加深了同學們對於質性研究方法的理解與應用。講座分為兩部分進行，第一階段由Weicht教授進行質性研究方法的闡釋，第二階段的工作坊，則讓學生從運用質性研究方法的研究中學習經驗。
首先，Weicht教授對任何想對國際經管議題做研究的同學，提出三個根本問題「Why? What? and How?」也幫助同學解決疑問，其中有學生提問「為何需要使用質性研究方法？」Weicht教授則簡潔有力的回答「只要研究涉及到『人』，這個方法就可以用來做深度的探索。」第二部分的活動採工作坊模式，將學生分為三組同時進行一場專業的面試，每位學生都將輪流扮演研究者、被面談者和觀察者的角色，並從中學習運用質性研究方法的經驗。
在這一場難能可貴的課程最後，Weicht教授引用愛因斯坦的名言「Science is the attempt to make the chaotic diversity of our sense experience corresponds to a logically uniform system of thought. In this system single experiences must be correlated with the theoretical structure in such a way that the resulting co-ordination is unique and convincing.」他也換句話說，幫助大家理解愛因斯坦想表達的：「Just pay attention in the Research Methods course and listen to your supervisor!」語畢引來同學歡笑。
