◎ 【Student】GHRM MBA & IBMBA Lunch Gethering

March 26, 2019 – The International Student Association hosted its first big event for this semester. They organized a lunch at the Sunset Beach Resort for all currently enrolled students, professors, and staff of our International Programs. This is the biggest event organized by the Student Association so far with over 85 participants. The lunch was scheduled from 12 till 2 pm. The lunch did not just include having lunch with the attendees but also had some fun activities. The SA found a fun way to arrange the table seating for the 9 tables by letting the participants perform a lucky draw at which table they had to sit.

The registration was supposed to start at noon, but the first attendees could not wait that long and came already in at 11:45 am. The Student Association prepared a box which contained the numbers 1 till 9. They wanted a random table seating so participants could meet new people and make new friends. When the registration ended at 12:20 PM, Remco Peters, SA President, took the microphone for the welcoming word and to elaborate the agenda. Remco handed the microphone to the new director of the International Programs, Sharon Wang, to introduce herself to everyone after the welcoming word. This was her first appearance as the director of the International Program and she did it with great enthusiasm.

After the introduction speech finally came the moment where everyone was waiting for, the food serving. New friendships were already starting to develop, more food was served and the attendees thought it could not get any better. However, they were wrong since the Student Association arranged 3 performances to increase the mood even more. The first performance was by Natasha Ghosh, a Dutch exchange student, performing a song supported by her ukulele. After Natasha, Zhanna Samudorova, 1st year GHRM student, performed a beautiful Russian song. Lastly, the audience was amazed by a cultural dance of the IBMBA students from Vietnam.

The final activity of the lunch was a hilarious quiz. The Student Association asked the professors to provide 3 statements of which 2 were true and 1 was false. The teams were divided by table number, making a total of 9 teams. If a team gives a wrong answer, they will be eliminated immediately. If everyone is all wrong, every team gets back in the game. All of the professors were really creative with there statements, but professor Kim was the best. She was able to eliminate all the teams with her statements. Table 6 was the winner of this round and they were called up on stage. They have to give an answer to the question ‘How many students are currently enrolled in the program?’ Three winners were able to give the closest answers and all of them were able to receive movie passes each! Towards the end of the event, a group picture was conducted to remember this historical event.
