The Financial Times Masters in Management ranking is based on surveys of participating business schools and of their alumni who graduated three years ago (in this case, 2018). It evaluates the career development of alumni, the diversity of the school, and the international reach of the program. The survey criteria include salary growth rate, career development ranking, percentage of female faculty and students, the percentage of international faculty and students, and international mobility.

The average salary of National Sun Yat-Sen University’s IBMBA alumni three years after graduation was US$56,978, an increase of 52% compared to the average salary at the time of graduation. IBMBA was ranked 55th in the world in the “Career Development” ranking, which evaluates the growth of positions and companies three years after graduation. This is a very impressive result and shows that IBMBA is able to produce business management talents that meet the needs of companies and help them grow.

IBMBA is characterized as a highly international learning environment with abundant exchange resources. In IBMBA classes, the ratio of foreign students to native students can be as high as 1 to 1. IBMBA students were ranked 41st in the category of “International Learning Experience” because of their extensive experience in international exchange, international internships, or study abroad. In addition, the “International Mobility” category, which measures the degree to which alumni change countries within three years of graduation, saw NSYSU’s IBMBA ranked 46th in the world and 6th in Asia, indicating that IBMBA alumni are highly sought after by global companies.

Traveling to Thailand to study at the Panyapiwat Institute of Management, students got to visit international and multinational companies such as the German Häfele Hardware Group and experience Thai business culture.

In terms of diversity, the School of Management ranked 4th in the world, with its percentage of female students at 67%, percentage of international students at 33%, and percentage of international board members at 44%. In addition, the survey also included the number of students enrolled, the overall satisfaction of alumni, and the percentage of internships completed within the program, but these were not included in the score.

A “mini-United Nations,” the IBMBA study body is composed of multicultural students from many countries, demonstrating the internationalization of IBMBA.

The top three MiM programs in 2021 are the University of St Gallen, HEC Paris, and University College Dublin: Smurfit. A total of 15 masters programs from Asia were included in the list, with the first place going to the Global 3 Programme jointly offered by Lingnan College of Sun Yat-sen University in China, ESADE Business School in Spain, and McIntyre School of Business at the University of Virginia. The second place went to Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management in China, and the third place went to Saint Petersburg University, Graduate School of Management in Russia.

From time to time, students participate in extracurricular activities. Here, IBMBA and GHRM MBA students and international exchange students show off the medals they won dragon boat racing.
