【Student】Recipient of 2019 MOE Outstanding Academic Performance – Michal Ryznar(GHRM MBA)

Today we would like to tell you about another Michal’s achievement – he has been awarded Outstanding Academic Performance by Ministry of Education (MOE) of Taiwan as a Recipient of Taiwan scholarship.

Michal is currently NSYSU GHRM Program Master student, graduating this summer. He is originally from Czech Republic.

He learned about MOE scholarship during the time he was exchange student at NSYSU. At that time few of his friends, who were also recipients of MOE scholarship gave a thorough introduction to application procedures. Thus, Michal decided to take this chance and applied.

Now we congratulate him on his award!

Mr. Ryznar has been awarded for outstanding academic performance based on his average GPA. Besides, Michal is proactive students and he had contributed to social life of NSYSU and had some activities besides only taking classes:

  • internship in Hamastar technology company in Kaohsiung
  • serving one semester as a Vice president of Student association for GHRM & IBMBA International Programs
  • two semesters of being coach of NSYSU International Dragon Boat Team.

The ceremony was held in Taipei and was part of a farewell dinner for all the MOE graduates. During the ceremony, Michal and other awardees were briefly introduced to audience which comprised of numbers of representatives from different countries and Ministry of Education. Afterwards, students were invited to the stage and received certificates from the MOE representative. Mr. Ryznar explains: “During the farewell dinner I also got a chance to meet some of the representatives from Czech cultural and economic office in Taipei. I felt great honor and appreciation to be awarded as an outstanding graduate.”

Michal shares his experience and gives advice to other international students: “I would definitely encourage everyone to search for as much information as possible about MOE scholarships in your countries. It is always better to write email and ask someone specifically about your situation, rather than looking for general information on the embassy website. If you get a chance, paying personal visit to the embassy at home country is the best you can do. Another advice would be to ask for recommendation letters from educational institutions, for example Professors from University you have studied at. Even though there is a lot of documentation needed for successful application, the benefits of MOE scholarship are extensively higher and worth any kind of challenges”.

For those, who would like to apply, here are the steps to apply for MOE scholarship (as advised by Mr. Ryznar):

  1. you must go to Taiwanese cultural and economic office (or embassy) in your home country and fill the application form;
  2. submit number of required documents.

To be eligible to apply, you need to have at least Bachelor’s degree, TOEFL English certificate, and two recommendations letters.

The requirements might differ for each country as well as amount of available scholarships. In Czech Republic, ten people were awarded with MOE.

We thank Michal for extensive interview on this festive occasion and wish him luck and perseverance to have more chances of receiving awards!
