Study Abroad After COVID – hurry to claim your spot!
The College of Management’s Office of International Relations and Accreditation held an information session for the 2022-23 College of Management’s Dual Degree Programs and the ACT Global Business Management Program on October 27.

Opening by Dr. Chien-Yuan Sher, Director of International Programs

Is it worth it to study abroad during the pandemic?

Current student Riva shared that participating in the ACT Global Business Management Program was the best opportunity to enhance her international mobility and network. The ACT program is designed with regional business management in mind, so the curriculum is planned to cover the characteristics of three regions: Europe, Asia and North America. During her participation in the Canadian module at the University of Victoria and the Austrian module at Johannes Kepler University, she learned how to communicate and reach consensus with her group members more effectively through exchanges with local students and professors as well as participation in corporate projects. Through long-term interaction, students from different countries develop close friendships with each other. Students from different countries took on the role of tour guides, leading us to get to know their countries in a more personal way, allowing us to experience the cultural customs of Canada and Austria in a more in-depth way. Riva said: “Go out and see the world! The most rewarding part of my time abroad was that I was able to break out of my comfort zone. During teamwork, I was able to point out the problems and express my views more courageously. I have also become more confident in my language skills, and I’ve become more independent by improving my problem-solving skills through all the things I encountered during my travels.”

If you had it to do over again, would you still choose to study abroad?

Riva said: “Yes! The year goes by quickly and every country has its own feelings and experiences, both good and bad. These experiences will become part of our wealth and enrich our lives. I hope that in the future, you will all be as grateful as I am to have had such crazy experiences in the past.” Professor Chien-Yuan Sher, Director of International Programs at the College of Management, further added that students can enjoy reciprocal tuition fee reduction and abundant educational resources from partner schools abroad at domestic tuition rates, which is undoubtedly a great benefit for students who want to study abroad. Take the opportunity to apply now!

Introduction to the College’s Double-Degree Programs

In addition, the most unique and not to be missed option of the College of Management is the “ACT Global Business Management Program,” which is jointly organized by National Sun Yat-sen University’s College of Management, the University of Victoria in Canada and Johannes Kepler University Linz in Austria. In addition to learning the business models of different economies in the three places, students can learn and exchange with their peers from all over the world, enrich their horizons and cultivate their cultural intelligence. Students in the MBA, IBMBA and GHRM MBA programs have the opportunity to obtain a dual degree with JKU Linz.
